Rules

The same rules that live in the Facebook group.

  1. For women of Iowa 18+

    This group is for women who live in Iowa, ages 18 and up. Invite your friends, sisters, coworkers, neighbors, cousins, and all the Iowa women in your life! *Age and current Iowa residency verified privately if selected as Woman of the Week*

  2. New Member Questions

    All questions when asking to join the group MUST be answered in order to be accepted. Profiles less than one year old or without a profile picture will be automatically declined.

  3. No explanation needed

    We all have a story and hard seasons. Every woman in this group matters. Our weekly selections are made at random, not based on who appears to need it most. You will never be asked to share your financial situation or what you intend to do with any gifts if selected as the WoW. Whatever information you choose to share is entirely up to you.

  4. Gifting is an option, not a requirement

    Each week, members have the opportunity to voluntarily gift $1 or more to a randomly selected woman of this group (see featured posts for details once accepted in to the group) But life happens. Sometimes the extra dollar just isn’t there and that’s okay. Gifting is completely separate from the selection process. You do not need to gift anything to be selected, and you will never be asked to gift in order to join the group or remain eligible.

  5. Weekly Selections are made at random

    Gifting $0, $1, $5, or more does not increase, decrease, or otherwise affect your chances of being selected. Likewise, group interactions do not increase your chances at being selected. You do not have to post, comment, like, or share to be selected.

  6. Be a girls girl

    Hate speech, harassment, bullying, discrimination, or personal attacks will not be tolerated and will result in removal from the group. We may not always agree with each other, but we will treat each other with respect. We’re girls’ girls here and we lift each other up

  7. Reasons for Removal from the Group

    Any attempt to add multiple registrations for the same member, share a personal fundraising campaign, or solicit gifts from other members will result in removal from the group.

  8. Keep it simple

    This group exists to give women a little help, a little hope, and a reminder that they’re not alone. No competition or keeping score. Just Iowa Women being Iowa Nice.
